A First

While we were at the park, Sarah was really thirsty and had finished her juice.
She found the pop machine and asked if she could get one.
Of course with that face, who could say no? ;)
A very proud Sarah and her very first big soda pop
Enjoying a sip of Sierra Mist after a day in the sun.

Sarah Lu Quotes!

"When I grow up and marry someone, I'll buy these 'cause they're pretty good." (talking about muffins)

"If we didn't have ears, we couldn't hear."

Me: "Sarah, how did you get SO smart?"
Sarah: "God made me that way!" :)

We were walking out of the grocery store and it was raining outside. Sarah rolls her eyes and says, "Uhh, my hair!" We get into the van and I ask her, "What about your hair, Sarah?" She replies, "It's sick... like icky!"

While teaching Sarah subtraction, I was using little toys to represent the numbers. There were 3 and I asked her what is 3 minus 2 . Sarah responded with "No! MINE IS two, yours is one!" :-) Instead of using 'minus' I now use 'take away', and she gets it right away! What a smart little girl, she keeps us all laughing!

She had a baton that she got at the dollar store. It was liquid filled and she wasn't too careful with it. In fact, she liked to bang it against things like the walls and doors. We told her it was going to break if she wasn't more careful with it, but she didn't listen. One day, it did break. Liquid started pouring out of it. It had to be thrown away. She came in the room, saw it in the garbage, and told Mom, "But that's been in the family for years!" (Actually, she had it for about three days maximum.)

While driving in the car with the windows rolled down, the wind was blowing on Sarah in the backseat. Sarah was upset about it and said:
"This is no time for drama drama drama. My hair is blowing!"

Look who has a PINK booster seat!

She is VERY proud of her new pink booster seat! Of course, she knows that it's not just her's (we also have another booster seat that is black) so the plan is the girls will share the two once Chayah is home, take turns being in each one, of course we are kinda unsure how that will work out...since there is only one pink one, and I'm sure the pink will be the favorite. So far Sarah says she understands and is happy to share with Chayah, so we shall see...

Sarah and Elliot

Elliot is a 3 month old Yorkie/Poodle Mix and is owned by Jie Jie Rachael's boyfriend. Sarah loves it when Elliot comes over to visit!
And Elliot is a very good dog, who is very obliging with whatever Sarah wants to do to him (like dress him in clothes and take him down the slide).
He is just her size and she loves being able to carry him around with her.

Goin' on a Train

Sitting at the train stop

"WOW! That is a really big train!"

"Look at me!! I'm in the train!!!!"

The train
Chrissy, Me (Staci), and Sarah in the train

Chrissy and Sarah
(No, Sarah was not drinking pop, she is just holding it for Rachael)

Silly Sarah and Daddy

Rachael and Sarah
hmm.. we did not notice that sign

Well, Sarah still climbed and our dog, Lilly, decided she wanted to too!

Sarah, Lilly, and I on the train

Daddy helping Sarah look into a window of the train

Rachael helping Sarah balance on the train tracks

And Sarah thought she should try to bring this with us when it was time to go... unfortunately it stabilized in place and she couldn't pull it.
It was a very fun day exploring the train!

When I Grow Up...

I want to be a doctor!

Sarah's new favorite book is "Medical Terminology for Health Professionals". This evening I found her relaxing on the bed with the book open in her lap, looking at the medical pictures of muscles and bones. She is completely enraptured with this book and has told us all that, "When I grow up, I want to be a doctor!"

Sarah

It's a big name in the news recently and Sarah is very excited about that! Last night she ran in the room to get a toy while I was watching the Republican National Convention and the Governor of Hawaii was speaking about Sarah Palin. She said something about just "Sarah". Sarah (I know, this could get confusing with all of the Sarah's, but then, that's the title of the post too) whipped her head around, looked up at the TV, then looked back and me with a very surprised look on her face and said, "My name is Sarah!!!!" We are all very excited about McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, especially Sarah Lu, who, is also matching to her name not only with "Sarah" but also with Lu! Sarah Palin's middle name is Louise, so she could also be Sarah Lu! Sarah has decided that in fact, "Sarah Rules!" and I couldn't agree more.
