2009: A year in review

January 2009
In January, we welcomed Chayah home!

February 2009
In February, we loved having Miss Chayah home at last. We bonded with her and also had a visit at Shriners Hospitals for Children to look at her leg.

March 2009
In March, Sarah Lu started Pre-school at our local Christian school-- she loved it.
Chayah continued to bond with us and us to her; gotta love that smile!
And both girls bonded together, so cute. I love my little sisters!

April 2009
April was Chayah's first Easter at home!

May 2009
On May 21st, Chayah had surgery on her leg. What would come was over two months in a full spika cast, but she handled it so well. She's a brave girl!

June 2009
In June, Sarah graduated from Pre-school.

Chayah had a wheelchair to help her get around with her cast on.

And we celebrated Sarah's 5th Birthday on June 11, which was also the mark of her being with us 2 1/2 years, exactly half of her life!

July 2009
July brought lots of fun times, warm weather, and..
Chayah's first birthday at home- 7 years old!

August 2009
On August 1st, big sister Rachael got married. Sarah and Chayah were beautiful flower girls. And now we also have our very first big brother!

In August, we went to the Zoo- lots of fun!

And then, both girls started school. Off to Kindergarten!

November 2009
In November, it was Chayah's first Thanksgiving home. We celebrated with family and loved having Chayah with us this year.

In school, Sarah and Chayah loved learning all about the first Thanksgiving and even had their own Pilgrim and Indian feast!

Also in school, Sarah and Chayah's Pre-school class was featured on a U*nited Way billboard in our city.

December 2009In December, the girls were in a Christmas program put on by their school. After the program, they were very happy girls in their dresses and singing us the songs they had learned to perform. Me and my little sisters!

On December 20th, big sister Chrissy got married! Now we have two big brothers.
Sarah and Chayah were both beautiful flower girls again, all dressed in red.
At the wedding reception having some fun- Chayah decorated with candy canes and peppermint patties, and Sarah decided to make herself into a Christmas tree.
We had a great year in 2009; looking forward to new adventures in 2010.
Happy New Year!
